10 Months

I'm a little late getting this up - but oh well. Here are a few of the things she's been doing the past few months:

* drooling like crazy - I'm thinking more teeth are coming in. That doesn't sound like much fun but we've got to do it at some point so we might as well get it over with.
* crawling up the stairs - we've yet to master going down, but she loves going up
* loving church - we're in a child deprived ward and so she gets passed around and she absolutely loves it. I'm not going to complain.

Here are a few pictures from the past couple of weeks:

We actually got her to sit on the grass. That was a major accomplishment. Whenever it touches her skin she just screams.

Don't you love the wild hair?

K*I*S*S*I*N*G

This is what she always does when we place her in front of the mirror. It always cracks us up, but today we finally got a picture of it. Here she is going in for the kill:

And here's the big smackaroo...

Should we be worried she's starting so young?!

D DAY

Today was THE day for deciding what to do with the rest of our lives...ok just for the next 3 years of our lives. And the verdict is....we will be moving to L.A. this August for James to work on a Doctorate of Education at University of Southern California. We have made the decision and there is no turning back. We've faxed in our acceptance and we're looking for housing.

It feels like it has been a long road to make this decision. For a while we thought we might be living in my parents house for the rest of our lives, then we were pretty sure we were moving to Korea, then it was staying in Logan, then we were certain it was going to be Turkey, then came California, then we thought it might be Germany. It has been a roller coaster, but we both feel good about the decision. We're not to excited about the cost of it, but it's a great school with a really good program, so somehow we'll make it work financially. In the meanwhile, we might sell a lung or two. :D

Spring Debut

Today it was warm enough for sandals! Hooray!! That called for the first painting of the nails. I haven't done this since August...8 long, cold, dreary months. Hooray for warmer weather!!! I hope it stays.

sorry - i kind of think feet are ugly, but i wanted a picture to commemorate the occasion

Trip

James has been working long hours lately down in Orem. As a result, he had a couple of days off this week. Hannah and I went down to Orem with him and stayed with my Grandma. Once James was finished for the week, we took a day trip into Salt Lake. We went to:

Living Aquarium - the penguins were our favorite
Clark Planetarium - awesome 3D movie and a swinging pendulum that still amazes James
Temple Square - always neat to walk around
Lion House - yummy, yummy lunch
Ikea - of course we had to get some swedish chocolate
Thanksgiving point - the gardens are so peaceful. Someday I want to see the tulips

We did all this with our connect pass. It's a pretty good deal. Of course, I took my camera, but didn't take a single picture. Go figure.

I did get a picture of Hannah with her great Grandma:

and one of all three of us:

Diaper Bag

So, I'm on to my second diaper bag and I really love it. There's only one problem - it is not big enough for Sundays. I try to pack lightly whenever we go anywhere but Sunday's are difficult. Not only do I have Hannah's stuff, but we add to that scriptures, binders, and manuals. Needless to say, my diaper bag is bulging at the seems. So, I decided to make a bigger bag for Sundays. Here's the end result:

If I were to do it over again I'd make a few changes, but I was nervous to do any of that because I'm not that confident in my sewing abilities. So, if I ever make another one I'd leave off the zipper, only use 2 fabrics, make the pockets a little more snug - they kind of gap, and I'd actually make it a little smaller. But, it works great for church.

This is a diaper and wipes holder that I made. I love it and it was super easy to make -- double bonus!

Happy Easter

Hannah experienced her first Easter Egg Hunt. She doesn't realize that she's being spoiled just yet - aren't grandma's the best? She wasn't too good at finding the eggs, but she enjoyed her basket. Here she is with all of the goods she got:

Here's Aunt Shelly reading her fun, new book to her.

Here she is doing what she does best- picking. She picks everything - she really likes napkins and the rug in our bathroom, but she'll pick at just about anything. Here she is pulling apart the grass from the basket. Look at the concentration on her face:

Official Crawler

She's been scooting around for a little while now, but as of today she is officially crawling. I was babysitting for a neighbor who has dogs. We learned today that she doesn't like dogs and therefore cried every time I set her down. I set her down to do something and she started to cry. When I didn't come pick her up she crawled about 6 feet to me. After we got home we experimented to see if she'd do it again - and she's moving everywhere now. No sitting still for her. I'm excited to show James when he gets home from work. He'll be amazed at how much she's changed in just one week.
