This little lady had a rough Mother's Day Weekend.  She went to bed Friday night just like normal, but woke up in the middle of the night with a fever and throwing up.  Yuck.  We got her and the bedding cleaned up, some tylenol in her, and put her back to bed.  She woke up at normal time Saturday morning.  You could tell she didn't feel well, but at least her fever was gone.  We figured she had a little bug, but weren't overly concerned about it...

....until she went lifeless and stopped breathing.  Her skin was so white and her lips were very blue.  It was very scary.  James started doing mouth to mouth while I called 911.  After a minute or so (which felt like eternity) she threw up and started breathing again just in time for the paramedics to arrive.  Once she was stabilized we learned she'd had a febrile seizure.  Aparently it's not uncommon in toddlers when they have a fever that spikes really high there body has a seizure which basically reboot's their system.  Anyway, we learned that there's nothing we can do to prevent it other than trying to make sure we keep her fever down.  The paramedics left, and we were a little shaken, but she seemed to be doing fine....

....the rest of the day she seemed pretty normal....until the same thing happened and she had another seizure that afternoon.  Lucky for me, I was at a church meeting with Sofia.  James wasn't so lucky.  He was with her and called 911 again.  This time they took her in the ambulance to the ER to do some testing.  After a very very long day, she was discharged.  Let's just say that 10 hours at the ER, a catheter, IV, blood drawing, and urine sack is not fun for anyone, but especially a 23 month old.

....basically, she's just fine.  The fact that she had 2 of the seizures in a 24 hour period makes it a little more complicated, but her doctor is not concerned about epilepsy.  We just have to be careful if she ever gets a fever to make sure we get it down asap.  Let's just say we are fully stocked in children's tylenol and motrin!!
....I'm happy to report that she's 100% better now.
